After a moment of madness during the recording of The MDN Show episode 15 I am really pleased to introduce The Mac Developer Network Community Award for 2009.

I am looking to honour and recognize someone who has positively input to and/or influenced the Mac developer community during 2009. The award will be decided by the Mac developer community and it’s very simple for you to take part and influence the final result.

In this Christmas special of the MDN Show, Scotty and John are joined by; Mr Kevin Hoctor, Martin Pilkington, the one and only Danny Greg and security guru himself Mr Graham Lee. The guys chat through the highs and lows of 2009 and gaze into their looking glass as they offer their predictions for 2010.

Being the end of another year (just in case you hadn’t noticed) I have been thinking long and hard about where MDN will go during 2010.

A few new things are planned and I will announce those in the new year but also a few things are going to disappear which is what this post is about.

Dave Mark and NSConference 2010 Speaker Jeff LaMarche have released their second iPhone book “More iPhone 3 Development: Tackling iPhone SDK 3″. A very silly name in my opinion but if the book is anyhwere near as good as their first then that can be forgiven. The book is currently only available as an electronic download but will be available in hard copy soon.

ASIHTTPRequest is an easy to use wrapper around the CFNetwork API that makes some of the more tedious aspects of communicating with web servers easier. It is written in Objective-C and works in both Mac OS X and iPhone applications.
